Alapage is a contemporary, upscale women's boutique located in the beautiful town of Bedford, New Hampshire. Alapage is known for its unique and updated assortment of clothing, jewelry, accessories and gifts. Our "Jean Bar" also features the most extensive selection of premium denim styles north of Boston. We are also the only Brighton "Heart Store" in northern New England.
Traveling often to New York and Los Angeles, the Alapage staff strives to bring the most recent (and wearable!) trends in clothing, jewelry, and accessories back to our store in New Hampshire. Our staff also maintains the highest level of customer service and is available for personal fittings and consultations.
Our Story
Lisa Gavin, Owner
Growing up in Massachusetts, Lisa Gavin knew from a very young age that she wanted to own a clothing store someday. Her mother had been in the fashion magazine scene in New York City in the 1950's and her excitement and love for fashion was inspiring. Lisa's mom would help her design and sew clothes for her Barbies when she was very young. Through this, Lisa learned to appreciate fine fabrics and tailoring. Lisa also learned from her mom how to assess the fashion world and to appreciate and understand the fickle world of fashion forecasting.
Lisa initially began a career in the healthcare field, however, after a brief but serious illness in her late twenties, Lisa decided it was time to re-vamp her life and follow her dream of opening a clothing store. In 1989, in the midst of a difficult economy, Lisa opened Alapage in Brentwood, NH. In 1991, she moved her store to the Bedford Mall where she remained for 14 years. Outgrowing her store in the mall in 2005, Lisa moved Alapage to a beautiful custom-designed 4000 square foot space in Bedford Square. This expansion allowed Lisa to fully capture her retail vision with the addition of "The Jean Bar", an entire wall dedicated to the very latest styles from the top premium denim brands.
Employees
Alapage has always been lucky to have a wonderful team of employees who know how to balance working hard with having fun. Our current Management Team gives 150% everyday to Alapage and our customers. Our bookeeper, Pam Bennett, the true star "behind the scenes", has been keeping everything organized and in-line for years. Our Sales Associates not only assist our customers with all their needs, but also help merchandise the store. If you've been in and seen their displays, you know how talented and creative our visual team is!

Charity Work
Giving back to others who are in need has always been an integral part of our work at Alapage. Each October we partner with one of our vendors, Brighton, to raise money for breast cancer research through our sale of an exclusive and Limited Edition "Breast Cancer Bracelet". We also participate with Brighton in their efforts to raise money for other charitable organizations.
Alapage is also a proud supporter of a variety of charities and organizations within the greater Manchester and Nashua areas including The Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire, Families in Transition and Home Health and Hospice Care. We are contributors to many local chapters of groups such as The American Heart Association and Making Strides for Breast Cancer. We also make many contributions to numerous local organizations in which our staff and customers have a personal interest.
In addition to our local work, Alapage has made a commitment to reach out on a global scale and annually sponsors a young Ethiopian boy through Wide Horizons For Children.
